QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY     and you can create quality.  first buy clean, fresh cut logs, or logs that come from a producer that has put clean green logs in a pile ,  oak dosnt matter how long as long as it has been stacked where the wind can get through the pile.   hard maple is a major problem storing it outside, the elements promote decay almost immediately. two years in the woods and the stuff is almost dust. oak lasts the most outsdie but should be covered with black covering. just the top.  side must let air through.  MUST let air through.     maple should be inside. it will keep forever INSIDE

when you get fresh cut logs the minerals, alcohols and all  the other factors that make good wood are in the product.

getting wood from a guy that goes out into the woods and cuts up dead wood can be disastrous for you. it will look like wood. feel like wood but the fungi ,bugs, rain and what ever else wanted what was in the wood that they could use. they did. and now you got a piece of wood that is a optical delusion.  nutten honey is what it is good for nutten.

i had a guy tell me that he was freezin.  stove full of wood. lots of fire but no heat. how in hell could this be.    wellllllllllllllll  all the good stuff had been leached out of it.  its like this.      now get a handle on this little comparison. it will really really help.  you too girls.      a horse eats oats.  as they go through his digestive track the bacteria and what ever digest those oats. they take all the nutrients out of them. the horse dosnt chew these oats up  for the most part. he just eats them and when  they come out of the horse they look exactly like they did when they went in.  HOWEVER. now they are what the rest of the stuf he ate is when they come out.    horse shit.     they still look like oats.    but. another optical delusion.  aint oats. day be orse poop. wood.   you got it. same same. it be just like those used oats. so when you get a load of wood and you dont know  the guy. you be axinfor it.  call someone that you know burns wood.     someone that has been doing it for a few years or will give you a sample.  no joke.     i ask customers if they will let someone come over and look at a semi load of logs.  i have a lot of loads that you c an see very well from the road.  ask about that and feast your eyes on a pile. it will  amaze you how much wood there is

bak to hot wood/cold wood-part of this could be your stove.  a bad stove wont give you heat for anything. seriously.  these home made boilers and wood digesters/incinerators.  i had a lady that bought and installed this boiler. used 2 loads a year to heat a mid size house./log cabin thing the amish built.  get this.  sun was going down. i went in and she was paying me.  had big nice windows on east and west side of the house.  i saw this thin yellow line on the wall up high on the east side of the house. it was sunshine coming through a crack up high on the wall.  no joke. the guys didnt calk one log.  the place was a wooden whistle.

so dont blame the wood all the time.   furnace that is totally wrong.  wood with no heat left in it and a house that is not insulated and is a whistle.
