the new boiler or hot water heater as they truely are. will have new standards. mainly burning clean. to do this they need DRY I REPEAT DRY WOOD. as it should be now but these boiler salesman tell people that green is ok. then the guy next door is rightfully pissed off because now his house is staring to smell like a railroad tie facility. especially the down wind guy. there are only a very few boilers made in the usa that will even remotely qualify for this perverbial blessing. this was done in a very controled environment i am shure. like you are going to have the perfect barrometric pressure. the super dried wood that they are expecting you to have. and you will have to have it because it will NOT work if you dont.
the european boilers especially the ones that use refractory and do what they call gassification.. they do work. seen them in action. ten times better than any usa made treasure.
I have hauled wood to some of these boilers. the ones with no grates and the guy has a mountain of ashes next to the boiler out back and half of the pile is charcoal..
these gassification units condense a semi load of wood into about a barrel of sand. thats right. almost nothing is left. they burn at over 2000 degrees..
do your homework.. dont be wasting your money. especialy on these home made dog houses that will suk you dry. i have a old chappee made in sweden. cast iron. awesome littleboiler. in my garage. 4 armloads a dy. approx 12 pcs of wood gets the job done.
i have a customer that takes 2 semi loads a year to a wood master. they named that bitch right
I have a customer by tc that has a 15,000 $ furnace soap stone from ireland. uses about 5 to 7 pickup loads a year. heats a huge log home. a monster. the thing has a firebox about the size of a bushell basket. every single bty is IN the house. awesome. totaly awesome.
he has trouble keeping his wood that long. a load is at least 5 years yup. 5 years out of a load. it can be done. it is being done but not with those wood suckers. absolutely criminal how much wood they waste.
my neighbor has a ceramic firebox on his gassification unit. it is white inside when it is burning.
WHITE HOT, thats over 2000 degrees. lets see one of those little stainless steel beasts do that. hmmmmmmmmmm dont think so
